Health and wellness can mean so many different things today, anything from diet, exercise, nutritional supplements, chiropractic care, meditation, massage even hormone therapy.  Health and wellness should incorporate anything natural given to the body to help optimize a person’s physical, emotional and spiritual wellbeing.  Some key examples of giving true health to the body are:

  1. Massage therapy- the therapist gives energy to the body to help increase blood flow, decrease muscle tension and spasm, improve detoxification of the body, increase lymph drainage, and decrease stress.  This treatment is given only with the therapist contacting the patient, so this is all natural, positive energy that is given to the body.  This natural therapy has been shown to alleviate such conditions as stress, neck pain, headaches, TMJ, carpal tunnel and more.
  2. Chiropractic therapy- these alternative doctors have an advantage of treating a wide variety of different health conditions using spinal adjustments, muscle manipulation, stretching, therapeutic modalities, cold laser therapy and designed clinical nutrition.  Due to the fact that anything can cause anything in the body, the chiropractor can examine a patient to narrow down specifically what may be the underlying cause of their health condition.  They look at what may be failing in the nervous system that could give a patient their symptoms.  Find the underlying cause, give the patient’s body what it needs; and the body will heal and repair itself.  Health issues that may be helped by chiropractic would be headaches, low back pain, arthritis, muscle weakness, disc herniation, sciatica, golf injuries, tennis injuries and even digestive problems.  These doctors are considered true health and wellness practitioners because they never prescribe and medications or anything toxic that the body does not welcome.
  3. Whole food nutritional supplements- sometimes just by giving the body the nutrition it needs, many health conditions can be fixed or alleviated.  Whole food supplements are effectively absorbed by the body because the supplements look exactly how they do in nature; this is a huge advantage over all synthetic vitamins.  The two most noticeable deficiencies these days are vitamin C and vitamin D; these deficiencies cannot be corrected by high doses of synthetic vitamins because the body does not respond well to their chemical makeup.  Whole food vitamins and minerals contain everything that natural vitamin C from an orange contains, or natural vitamin D from cod liver oil or the sun.  The body welcomes natural vitamins and minerals because they can break them down easily and efficiently into fuel for all of the organs and glands in the body.
  4. Wellness programs which may include detoxification protocols, exercise, and diet and nutrition recommendations are also considered in the health and wellness category.  These programs are usually all natural, total body health plans that anyone can take part in that can take them from being very sick to becoming energetic and healthy.  With any health and wellness plan one can expect to see positive health changes over time, but remember that when talking about health and wellness protocols it is a marathon and not a sprint so try and be patient.
